Today's events at the High Court in London have given rise to much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Both Leavers and Remainers (if that hotline to the British consciousness "The One Show" is anything to go by) are asking the question : "Why were we given the vote if this court decision tries to overturn it?".
I thought I might try and formulate an answer to this earnest question. Here goes.
